OK, now that C4iGrant got me fixed up SUPER QUICK with his last remaining Troy CQB SPS, I find myself stumped.  Clearly, it's due to the unusual thickness of my skull and my relatively low brain cell count.

How the heck do I use it?  I downloaded the instructions, but that didn't help.  They say, "The short strap and tri-glide are to allow you to position your weapon's hang position on your chest."  But I can't figure out how or where it goes.  Help!

It goes between the weapon and the pad.   Troy is assuming that you will be wearing the pad on the same side as your "strong" side (which is opposite how a lot of "tactical types" wear single points).

I just cut the damn things off, they just don't work in my applications and were basically falling apart by themselves anyway due to crappy stitching.  I put orange cleaning jags in the threads on these photos so you can see what was happening:

Thanks for the reply.  The PDF instructions I got from Troy say that right-handed shooters should put it over the left shoulder and under the right arm.  But even after taking up most of the slack, the rifle is in a good shooting position, but a little too low for walking around.

I don't understand how the short strap helps you "position your weapon's hang position on your chest" and "immediately clear the weapon from your chest and down to your side if needed."  What do I do with it?

Being dense just isn't much fun.

I'm sorry, I said that wrong.

The weapon is between the pad and strap.   The weapon rests on the strap by gravity- Pull the strap up to keep the weapon higher; Pull the strap down to let the weapon hang down  (Easier said than done).    Hope that explains it.

Here's a good info link with pics.   He ended up cutting off his strap too... :
