I saw my first Versa Pod yesterday and I am impressed.  I have been using Harris for a number of years, but I am impressed with the VP.  I have a RRA 18" varmit upper that is going on a RRA NM lower and I think I may switch to the Versa Pod.

What is the experience out there and does the pod have quality and is it reliable?

Thanks,

Quality is decent but not as good as Harris.  Also, the Versa-pod is not as stable.  Teh rifle is sort of able to 'flop around' on top of the bipod.

I generally use a Harris if I'm on a bench or a concrete slab and use the Versa-Pod if I'm on something else.

I like the Versa Pod,works  for moving targets,  also have a  Panther palm-rest grip, it keeps the Versa Pod from  tilting.

On my carbin M4gery, I use a G27 grip.

i got a versa and it flopped around like others have said.  But I fixed it by removing the bolt and taking a 38 special case and cut the rim off to use as a bushing to stabilize the bipod.  Is it better than a Harris?  No.  the versa has a tendency to flop to the side and make the rifle fall over.  On rough ground it can articulate far more than the Harris but I don’t shoot off of the sides of a hill very often.

Thanks for your reply. I think I will look into the Harris swivel model.  I have an email to them, hope to get a reply soon.
