| What rail mounted grips have users been happy with? There seem to be so many. What are the advantages of a pistol style grip versus a straight grip? |
| I use a foldable grip sold by Bushmaster. I like it because it is secured with an Allen screw rather than a friction nipple (like the KAC-type grips). This is particularly useful on forearm units with rails that are relieved in the center. I also prefer the cylindrical grips because they are not directional; they allow the user to adopt a grip with a neutral hand/wrist position. The pistol-type grips, however, require the user to break his wrist in order to maintain the proper hand position. |

Being a KAC kinda guy, I use the KAC vert grip. If you envision the position of your hands when you shoulder your rifle, you'll see a "pistol grip" for the rear makes sense. However, for the front, it is more ergonomic to have a strait grip or if you think of it it would be actually be more comfortable if you were to reverse the grip and have it pointing forward. Hmm. I think I should patent that idea.[:D] |

Advanced Armament I have a rail and foregrip set from them...highly recommended...great price too. The grip is just like the Knights grip, only a tad bigger, not much. I had a Knights, sold it and paid for the rail and grip set. No problems at all.... |
