will it effect accuracy any more or less than using a short rail or #5 Harris mount on the handguard?

The idea would be to mount a quick detach bi-pod and M3 Streamlight to a Sporter.  I'm more interested in adding a bi-pod now and a light in the future.

Probably won't make a bit of difference, but the Harris #5 is way cheaper if all you want is the bipod.
