Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Recent Leupold Mk 4 Scope Markings

I have seen Leupold scopes in the past with etching into the metal on the underside of the scope, where the serial number is.  Are the recent Mk 4s still marked like this or are they using white laser etching with QR codes?  Leupold used to have examples of fakes posted on their website, but now it is only found on other websites.

Call Leupold with the serial number of the scope you're looking at. If your seller is legit, they won't mind providing it. I've done it before when buying a used Mk 4, Leupold cleared it up in a couple of minutes that my scope was legit.
