Lot's of people here have been seeing the PSA sales, I snagged one of these last week and made the range today.

I decided to mount it on my oldest Colt 6920 (2011 purchase). This is the 2nd time this rifle has had a Sparc on it, it mounted my Gen 1 for several years before I mounted a Bushnell 1x4 on it. The later I wasn't quite happy with so decided on a change.

Major differences between the Gen 1 and AR Sparc's is the control features. The AR Sparc corrects the on/off switch flaw of the Gen 1, mounting under the rear reticle instead of the left side of the tube. This caused issues with the switch staying on or accidently turning on when stored in a AR case IMO.

The AR Sparc also uses common AAA batteries, easier to find than the CR2354's the Gen 1 uses.

On to the range, cold zero with no using a laser or bore sight (where's the fun in that )

1st 30 rounds, Wolf Gold .223 brass cased at 50 yards all bench rested.

My 1st 3 rounds were in the 8 ring at 3 o'clock, with 1 round in the 9 ring same level. I decide the elevation is good but I need to dial left. Of course I dialed too many clicks left so my next 3 rounds go 9 ring 9 o'clock. After that I start dialing it in with 1-2 clicks movement at a time till I decide I need a new target.

2nd 50 rounds at 50 yards, still bench resting the rifle.

2 "flyers" in my opinion, if you can call 2 rounds in the 9 ring flyers Everything else is close enough in the 10 ring where I'm calling it zeroed.

Last 50 rounds for the day at 50 yards.

These I did "rapid fire" while still bench resting. 1st 10 rounds then 20 per mag (I use a 20 round mag when I zero a rifle), trying to get the dot back on target as fast as I can while firing as fast as the range will allow (you have to do a 1000 count between trigger pulls...RSO's are no fun sometimes )

I decided to call it a day then, had 100 rounds left but figured save it for next time. I'll run it out to 100 yards next chance I get.

For the money it's a decent little scope

Good shooting.

Do you notice the emitter in the tube while shooting.  I looked at one at a gun show and that was the first thing I noticed.   But I figured it might not be a "thing" while actually shooting because you wouldn't be so focused on it.

Nope, didn't notice anything but rounds on target. I did notice the red dot was crisper than the one on my Gen 1 Sparc

Good post. I recently just picked up one myself from PSA with the 10 mags. Haven't made it to the range yet.

I'm thinking of snagging a 2nd one next time I see them on sale at PSA solo (I've too many Pmags now ).

I'm thinking of doing a AR pistol with a brace and that would be prefect for an optic for one

I have both Gens of SPARCs. The AR version is waaaaaay better then the old one. Mine is on my 300blk HD pistol. Brightness adjustment is better, it's smaller, easier to turn on and off and looks better.

The only thing I don't like is the cheesy lens caps, I wish you could get something better.

Like I said, odd's are I'll get another or maybe even 2 more. I've got a couple extra AR's I built before the election for resale if the hag had won, I can use one on one of those as family rifles in case the zombies come

I love my Sparc AR. I've had it about a year now, and no problems whatsoever. I also love the lifetime warranty. Nice little budget red dot.

Does it use a proprietary mount pattern? Or is it T1/T2 style?
