At 65 yards, I am running 1/2" high, which according to the ballistic calculator is a 40/135 yard zero.
-3.1" at 200 yards. -9.2" at 300. And 0.6" high at 100. -14" at 300. I wonder if I should keep this configuration or reset it to something else. MK262 with BC of 0.371 out of 16" barrel and v=2690 fps. a 200 yard zero is also a 25 yard zero. 2" high at 100. -9.1" at 300. 35/150 yard zero also looks interesting. -2.5" at 200 and -13" at 300 and only 0.9" high at 100. http://www.shooterscalculator.com/ballistic-trajectory-chart.php?pl=223+Remington&presets=223+Remington~223+REM+70gr+Berger+VLD~G1~0.371~70~2850~100~1.5~0~10~90~false~0~59~29.92~50~true~1000~25&df=G1&bc=0.371&bw=77&vi=2690&zr=135&sh=1.5&sa=0&ws=10&wa=0&cr=330&ss=5&chartColumns=Range~yd%3BElevation~in%3BElevation~MOA~FBFFF5%3BElevation~MIL%3BWindage~in%3BWindage~MOA~FBFFF5%3BWindage~MIL%3BTime~s%3BEnergy~ft.lbf%3BVel%5Bx%2By%5D~ft%2Fs&lbl=223+REM+77+SMK&submitst=+Create+Chart+ |

Your figures seem pretty far off for some reason. Plus you just have to check.
It might have something to do with your height over bore. Either you have it in the calculator wrong or something. But 9.1" high at 300 with a 25 meter zero..... Doesn't seem quite right. It's usually 9.1" at 200. And 40/165 for line of intersection doesn't seem quite right either. Usually it's 50/200. Not always right on at 200 but getting close with a 5 yard zero. But there are a lot of variables that change the trajectory. Barrel length, Height over bore, and ammo. You're not really saying any of that. Yep, your height over bore is wrong. It should be 2.5. You are putting in the dimension of normal height sights from the top of the rail to the eyeball, or line of sight. Not the center of the bore. Unless you have the optic in a super low mount on your AR. |
