Quick question of optics and mounts.

I have a Aimpoint M4 in a Larue mount. Now the mount is tightened correctly and cannot be moved by hand.

However if I lock the bolt back and hand cycle a magazine worth of rounds the mount will slightly move rearward.

Is this normal behaviour?

Check to see if there is forward/backward movement on the rail when it's not tight. There shouldn't be a lot of that either. Perhaps you should just tighten it down a little more.

I have the same Aimpoint, but mine does not move so I doubt that is normal, especially with a larue mount.

I had the same issue recently with a carry handle.

You just need to tighten it more.

Tighten it down.  The throw lever should be stiff to open and close.  GTG

I went ahead and tightened it a bit more.

Takes around 12lbs of pressure to close and some force to open. Not tool like force or anything, just decent finger strength to open.

I tighten my LaRue mounts enough that I can still do it with my fingers, but it takes some effort. They're tight.

Normal for LaRue, yeah.

You can tighten it to the point where it is no longer QD and I bet you'll still have the movement.
