Good Day, I'd like to apologize in advanced as I'm fairly new to the community and night vision. I'm looking into budget night vision scopes, and I was curious if anyone has any experience with adding a more powerful or even second IR Illuminator attachment. Would this increase the luminosity of the view within the scope or would this hinder it more then be helpful?
Thanks |

gen 2 stuff is better than nothing but you'll be blind in starlight conditions without ambient light or an ir illuminator. in moon light you can see about 100 yards without ir help. in total darkness starlight only conditions you'll need it help to get to 100yds.
there are some it lights that mount to rails that help in total darkness but be aware that ir lights are a beacon to others using nv. if you can save up later nger and get gen3 you'll be much happier. gen2 works well in urban settings with artificial light though. |

The newer Gen 2+ (Photonis) you would be happy with probably. We have a forum dedicated to Night vision, that is excellent.
Arfcom nv forum You should check it out! |

Yup, as good as alot of gen 3 stuff... yep agreed on 2+ and better in urban environments than gen3 filmed stuff, with artificial light from homes and cars. alot less blooming with 2+ but good SN ratio. resolution isnt that great but not a big deal |
