I purchased all of the available Colt components for the folding front sight on the 6940 from Brownells. Then I sourced the unlisted parts such as the disc spring washer, ball bearings and e-clip from McMaster-Carr. With everything assembled, I have too much play in the pivot pin assembly. Maybe I have the wrong spring washer or missing a shim? Does anyone have a picture of the complete breakdown or Colt parts list? Thank you!

That gun was new when I went thru the Colt armorers course but Im pretty sure the manual has a schematic of it.

Unfortunately my manual is sitting on my desk at work and I won't be back there for a few more weeks.  You might try googling to that effect.  Wish I could be more help.

I'm betting the parts you got from McMaster-Carr are not correct.

I would talk to Ken Elmore at Specialized Armament about this, he probably has the correct parts that would be needed.

The ball bearings are correct, the disc spring is questionable but it's the only one I can find that would fit within the confines of the design. A shim washer would correct my problem, I would just would like to confirm the OEM design.

Specialized Armament used to have pictures of a fully disassembled 6940 FSB and all of it's parts but I can't find them.

Edit: Here it is, scroll down to post #10. > http://www.weaponevolution.com/forum/showthread.php?3273-LE6940-Barrel-Extension

It's a small picture but it looks like it shows all of the parts except for the shim washer for the barrel shoulder.

Thanks for the picture! It looks like six Belleville disc springs acting as tension. That stack should take up the gap. SAW mentions the difficulty in assembly...probably need a lot of force to compress and install the E-clip.

Excellent, that answers all of my questions.  I'll add the additional 5 spring washers. Good thing they come in a pack of 12. Thank you!

No problem, I hope it works out for you.

I do wish Colt would sell this FSB through Brownells fully assembled though.
