Looking at two similar Vortex optics for .223/5.56 20" barrel mid-range competition.

First option: Vortex Viper HS Long-Range 30mm Riflescope, 4x16x50. BDC reticle. Cost $449
Second option: Vortex Viper HS 30mm Riflescope, 4x16x44. V-Plex reticle. Cost $299

Thoughts on either for its intended purpose?
Is the first worth the extra $$?

Pro/Cons?

Vortex makes great scopes, I love mine. But I would step up to the Viper PST in FFP.

Then at least get the Viper with the BDC. V-Plex is boring and not very useful IMO
