Aimpoint pro,t1 and trijicon mro? Also are the budget options on the market even worth it for a home defense rifle?

I'm just here to pimp my Leupy deltapoint pro.

I liked the MRO I owned, I liked my aimpoints.

I just like the DP pro better.

Budget? Aimpoint Pro

Best? Aimpoint T2

Any Aimpoint will suffice for HD, so decide based on other criteria like budget, weight, size, etc.

I have no experience with the MRO so can't comment.

I'd skip the budget options if this may be used in a defensive role one day.

The best?  Depends on your budget...

I run an Aimpoint PRO on my 10.5 shorty, and I'm more than happy with it, great optic IMO!

Just got a DPP myself and LOVE it. I also own some Aimpoint M4's & 1 (soon to be 3) MRO's. All quality choices IMHO.

Depends upon budget and what features are important to you: Small size? Low weight? Specific battery type? Ambi brightness control? Flip-ups? FOV through the optic? Sufficiently rugged/reliable for home defense use? Etc...
There are a lot of excellent optics currently available that I would gladly use w/o losing sleep. However, the MRO is the best combination of price/size/FOV/ruggedness/weight/etc for my needs (YMMV).

IMO, worth what you paid, anything dependent on battery should be backed up with irons.  Therefore if budget constraints push one back toward say a primary arms red dot that has gotten good review or similar, then I believe you'd be well served.  If that just won't satisfy you, then buy a well respected aimpoint or other?  "Buy once cry once." Mine is wearing an aimpoint ML3 with buis.  It has also and may again have a Burris tac30 or only irons.  My $0.02.  AFAIK Aimpoint is still recognized as "the" standard.

Aimpoint t or h series.

I have an H1 and am very happy with it.

Same here.  Has a lot going for it.  Duty grade.  Motion activated.  Compared to T1 has a much larger and unobstructed window and peripheral field of view.  Much clearer glass. 1.9 ounces plus the mount.

For quality and lightweight, durability and SHTF, Ampoint T2.

If Eotech didn' have the "Sightgate" then they'd be number one for quality when weight isn't a concern.

Not close.  Terrible battery life, major nitrogen purge issues...maybe number 1 for sight window.  Not for overall best.

I have a Delatpoint Pro on my pistol. I dont even run it on my lightweight build... its just a pistol optic.

For a Rifle? T2. For a pistol DPP.

All my carbines run T1, H1, or T2 red dots

Variable scopes? Still not found what I prefer there. Currently running Meopta and Burris XTR II scopes. Both nice but imperfect.

It has been said that the MRO has a slight magnification to it. I have not used one so I can not comment, but just wanted to mention that as it possibly could be an issue.

I say get yourself an H2 because you don't really need that NV capability of the T series. I have a T2 (NV use is possible in my job) on a SBR project (currently pistol format until it gets stamped properly) and I wanted to lightweight, balanced, and snag-resistant (as possible) rifle. I would not trade my T2 for anything. On a HD/SHTF rifle (mine is a HD build) I would not trust any cheap copy to do this job. Yea the battery tabs scare me that they will break, but they haven't yet. And I can turn on the optic and not worry about it not being ready when I need it.

Why do you think the DPP is "just a pistol optic"?

Not saying any red dot is the "best" for all purposes, but it works very well on this very simple carbine for home defense.

I move it to 45 degree offset for use on my mid power scoped precision recce build.  Performs well in that role, too.  Rugged, versatile, light.  Always ready.

The leupy LCO is to me the clear winner if budget allows, try one and you'll see why I say that.
