I am purchasing an Aimpoint H-1 4 moa tomorrow.
This is my first optic for my first build. At what distance should I zero the optic? |
|
50/200 zero is the way to go.
Use this target at 30ft(10yds) to get yourself on paper, then back it out to 50yds to fine tune the zero, shoot 100 to see you are 1-2" high, and shoot 200 to check your impact at that distance ( should be close to on), and fine tune any windage adjustments you notice. |
|
Are your irons zeroed now? If so use them for a rough zero for your dot. With both front and rear deployed, simply adjust the dot until it is centered at the tip of your front sight as you look tbrough your rear aperture.
This will get you on the paper. Then, zero for 50/200. You will probably notice when done that your dot may no longer be exactly over the tip of the front sight (for technical reasons not important here), but should still be close. |
