I was working a return authorization and realized my Eotech isn't the standard  552.

I see in the archives that the 554 was military only model.

The serial number sticker is long gone. There is a serial number etched in two locations. The manufacture date is March 2004.

Do you think I can return this or should I hold onto it?

Any other info about the 554 would be appreciated. I traded for this eotech off the EE several years ago.

I'm just getting up to speed on all this Eotech crap.
I have a 552 with a flip to the side 4x magnifier, nice setup
Bought both of these about five years ago, put out some big bucks for both of them.

Does anyone have any idea if Eotech will send refunds for both items?
One without the other is not any good to me.

Thanks

They will not refund you on the magnifier
The refund is only for holographic weapons sights (HWS)

Apparently they have revised their stance and are now refunding one the HWS packages that came with a magnifier

In one thread I seem to remember someone saying their LAW guns units was approved for return.

Wow that will be very interesting since they confiscated some of the units sent in for repair

That's what I though. Even during that whole thing some people were getting their units refurbed or replaced while others didn't get them returned at all.

I don't recall the specifics of that whole thing, but I'm wondering if some were purchased at the unit level and others on larger contracts. Those that were purchased directly through CRANE getting confiscated and those bought at the company or platoon level were returned. Who knows.

It's probably more cost effective at the moment to just refund them than to try to sort them all out at the moment.

That may change as the "rush" dies down, I just hope for the sake of those who do send them in that they don't retroactively decide to deny or even confiscate ones sent in, not that there has been any reason or indication that this is what will happen.
