Only thing it does better than the Aimpoint Pro is 8 years battery life, and takes a AA battery instead of a watch battery. Integral mount prevents impact-induced rotation of the optic and the control knob is physically disconnected from the switch to prevent impacts to the knob from breaking the switch (a weak point in the M2/M3/Pro series). Whats that do that the new pro i just paid $400 ftom trading place do? Battery life? Your PRO is a very capable optic and you should be proud to own it. The CompM4s is the current version of the M68 CCO fielded by various MIL/LE/GOV agencies today. It is a battle proven design that will function and perform in the most extreme environments. It is also the flagship of the Aimpoint RDS line-up, with an MSRP north of $800. Even in "used" condition, $450 is a pretty good deal for this optic, which is now also a piece of modern military history as well. If I didn't have money tied into a suppressor and optic purchase right now, I'd snatch up another one in a heartbeat. Just trying to share the love with my fellow shooters. |

Is aimpoint going to say "that was a .gov sale" if you ever try to send it in for repairs? I'd like to know this as well^ Don't want a Lawguns confiscation type of situation... This is the only reason I haven't purchased one yet. I'd be interested to hear if anyone at Aimpoint has ever given any definitive clarification. $450 is a great deal if it's legit, but the M4/M4S is still a big, expensive potato when compared to PROs, T1/T2s, and the upcoming MRO. If the deal doesn't include serviceability, it's no great deal. I've had two Aimpoints (M2 and T1) with issues over the years, and don't buy the notion that CS is not needed (or at least worth having access to). FWIW, I've also had two 552s and a TA31-RCO A4 go down under normal/professional use, so I don't drink anyone's Kool-Aid. I like and distrust all quality optics equally. If anyone knows what kind of support is out there for these, I'm all ears. |

My big concern (the LEO sale thing is a small concern) is the condition of the lenses. Being
agency turn-ins, are the lenses scratched, etc? That is the only thing keeping me from ordering. It is a great price; one of those used M4s' and a LaRue mount is $200 cheaper than a new M4s combo from LaRue. |
