I recently noticed Magpul has started offering a "enhanced" front sight post(FSP) for their MBUS Pro line so I bought a couple to give a try. Pretty much the only complaint I had about the Pro sights was that the post was too wide and it wasn't replaceable with the many aftermarket posts available. The new FSP can be used with either a standard width post or by simply turning it, a precision post which is 33% thinner. I found it made a significant difference in precision. It's worth checking out if you've thought the stock FSP was too wide with the Pro line.....

If I understood Magpul correctly, these come on all the latest front sights so I would check any you already have before spending the money on these.

With that being said, they sent me a replacement front sight and it does not have this selectable pin.  Measured on either side, it is a NM dimension all the way around.

I wasn't aware of that. It makes sense, it won't cost them any extra to include this pin vs. the older square version.

Thanks for the post.  It is too thick.

I just bought a set of offset Pro sights on Labor Day, and it has the square/fat post.  Not sure if this is recent stock or not.  Are the Pro offsets old enough to have old stock though?

I don't know when or if they implemented the change, if at all, or if they simply decided to sell them as a stand alone option.  A month ago, I had to send in a complete set for replacement because the tip was manufactured crooked on the front sight, and the roll pin was walking out on the adjustment knob on the rear.  They said they were sending me the latest front sight with the dual dimension front sight tip in one.  The one I received does not have two dimensions.  It is .040 from either side.

I took that to mean the latest production units have the dual front sight tip.  Perhaps he just meant they were sending me a sight with the new style front sight tip as a freebie for the warranty trouble, and the one on mine was made wrong, with only the NM measurement.

Actually, now that I read the website description, it states they are offered as an upgrade option.  So I it looks like they are only offered as an upgrade, not as a standard feature on the latest sights.

"The MBUS Pro Enhanced Front Sight Post is an upgrade for both the MBUS Pro and the MBUS Pro Offset Front Sights."
