Is it good to cycle optics with batteries on and off about every month or so? I have three eotechs and a aimpoint. Sometimes they sit for a few months without shooting them. I don't want to take the batteries out every time because sometimes I will go out every week and shoot. Should turning them on for a minute help them not leak? All I been using is energizer lithium batteries.

I've never heard of anyone doing that, and I'd be surprised if it helped.

FWIW, lithiums don't tend to leak like alkalines.

So they should be gtg every time?

Just use litihum exclusively, never alkaline in any valuable electronic device.   No need to "cycle" anything.  It is desirable to occasionally break the circuit by removing the battery for a moment and putting it back.  Sometimes oxydation can build up on the surface of the metal contact points with the battery.  Just removing and replacing the battery will break any oxidation and restore clean contact.

Don't you leave your Aimpoint on all the time anyway?  That's probably best.
