I am looking to see an Ar pistol 7" to 9" barrel with a Lucid hd7 mounted on it.

Very interesting combination.  That may be a tall order. Literally.  The HD7 is not a small RDS and weighs, I think a bit over 13 ounces.  Lucid's little 4.6 ounce M7 micro dot might be a better choice on a pistol build.  I do have both the HD7 and M7 (actually two of the latter).  Both have performed well for me, so I have no durability questions whatsoever.  The M7 does not have a built in riser (whereas the HD7 is built for a lower 1/3 co-witness with its incorporated mount), and unless you are trying to co-witness with iron sights on a barrel that short, you could mount the M7 much lower, more like on a traditional pistol, too, and perhaps find the combo a bit more manageable.  If you do need it higher, you can put a riser under it.

The M7 has all the same features as the HD7, but is limited to only one reticle choice, the EOTech type circle dot.  I like it best anyway.   I understand that Lucid may be about to release a version of the M7 with a simple dot, too.

But if you have the HD7, give it a try.  Its durable enough.
