I just purchased a LaRue LT110 VFZ mount for my 512.  I also have a KAC 300-600 meter Micro rear sight.  When I combine the 512 and my mount to my rifle I can barely see my front sight through the BUIS. Is this normal?  The front sight is very low in the EO.  I shoot a Colt Sporter 20" HBAR rifle. Most of my life has been with irons. I was ok with the picture without the mount. I bought the mount because my 512 would not hold zero. I can see the tip of the front sight post clearly, but it seems awkward now. Practice makes perfect? I can't help but think it is purposely designed this way. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. I have always found straight answers on AR15.com and sometimes just need your experience.  Thanks!!

It is normal. You raised your eotech a certain height, so the sight picture will also change. If you can see the front sight tip, then you are good to go.

Don't listen to Turbine Guy. His training consists of sittin naked in a bean bag chair eatin' cheetos.

Kidding. He's right, and while that may be his current training regimin, he's well trained. My EOTech's have all had a 7mm riser in the base, and this is for whats called a lower 1/3rd co-witness. Which means your BUIS co-witness with the reticle in the lower third of the EOTech window. Completely normal.
