Vic asked me to put something up here, so here goes.
I've had a L3 WASP for the last few months and have spent maybe 4-5 hours behind it. To say I am impressed thus far would be an understatement! I have used it on several different rifles and the results have been impressive. I have taken it out to 300 yards many times but haven't shot it past that as I have just been too lazy to stretch it out further yet. At some point here I'll stretch it to 600-800 as I a confident it can do it, just haven't had the time or motivation to do so yet. Anything I have shot at up to 300 yards is almost too easy with this thing. I have shot various chicken eaters with it inside 300 yards and it has been almost like cheating. On good moonlit or starlit nights I leave the IR spotlight at home as it doesn't need any help. I normally leave the optics on 4x, but on nights with ambient light, or with TNVC's torch it is usable well into the 8x-10x range with a slight loss of resolution. This thing is simply amazing at up to 6x if you have good glass. The optics it has mainly been used in front of are a Nightforce 2.5-10x24 and S&B 3-12's and 5-25's. The S&B's have an edge over the nightforce and my favorite is the S&B 3-12 anywhere from 3x through 6x-8x. When I have found time to hunt with it, I leave the scopes on a very low setting to get max FOV and if I had time, I have gone to 4x-6x to take shots. On the main three rifles I have used it in zero shift is next to nothing with two being dead on with and without the WASP. The biggest shift I have seen thus far was around 0.5 MOA, but the scope was not centered enough to my liking and when higher rings were installed the shift was gone. I'll see if I can upload some pics here soon, but wanted to at least put something up for those of you still waiting on the WASP. i can tell you that it is well worth the wait and you will not be let down when you get yours in hand! |
| Thanks for the review, there have been many positive reviews. I am sure it will be a solid product when and if it is ever released. It was kinda out of my price range but I was willing to suffer the wrath from the wife but I have since moved on. My choice works for me and I am.sure the wasp is superior to what I went with but I am happy. I really hope TNVC gets this out next year, a lot of people have been waiting for it. |
