[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Removing front sight

I have two ARs that I'd like to change out the plastic hand guards to free floating. Removing the A2 sight/block looks easy enough, especially with a front sight block, but I'm curious if there are any caveats or pitfalls I need to be aware of. Thanks.
