| When you mount a scope or RDS, should you push it forward on the rail prior totightening it down, or backward? At first I thought backward made sense, but now that I think about it, if the RIFLE recoils backward then a sight pushed to the rear might scoot forward. Just to clarify, I'm not asking where toplace it along the length of the upper's rail, but whether it should be pushed against the forward notch or the rearward notch in a given position before tightening the mount. |
| Yes. You are correct. This is less important if the mount is fixed and tight, given the light recoil of 5.56. It can be pretty important in removing and replacing a return to zero mounted optic when shooting at beyond 100 yards at small targets. And always use the same slot number if you want to retain the zero. |
