Okay so I very recently decided to buy the Vortex Sparc gen2 for my AR-15 and It has been fantastic. But today while doing a few moving drills I noticed the sight was shooting way off to the left of the paper, when it usually is center mass. So I decided to do some bench shooting to make sure zero was still there. I did just as I did when I first sighted in the optic for a 50yard zero, and sure enough it was shooting way off to the left side of the paper approximately 5inces away from center mass. I have only had this Sparc for probably 3 weeks I would say and have shot approximately 100 rounds with it. I have never dropped it or hit the optic on something. I just simply do a few drills, clean AR, and store the rifle away in my gun case.
Question is, has anyone else had this issue? I have sighted it back in and will see how it does for a full month before I decide to just turn it back in. I don't like to do returns unless something is truly wrong. But figured I would see if anyone else has experienced this. I'm not expecting it to run like my Eotech; but I just don't see how it could have lost zero? |

I would shoot it a few more times and see if it shifts zero again. Sometimes new optics windage adn elevation knobs will need to break in and settle.
I remember reading this in a manual one time to give the optic a few firm taps after adjusting the knobs the first time when new. I had an Acog do this to me one time, and after zeroing it again, and tapping the windage and elevation turrets after each adjustment it never lost zero again. If that doesn't work and your mount hasn't loosened, than there may be a problem. |
