I'm looking for a scope to put on a SPR style built.. So far I've found two scopes that fit my need/budget:

- Nikon P300
- Vortex Crossfire

Both with 2-7x magnification. I think it's enought for 200-300m.
The Nikon comes with the .300blk BDC...I'm not familiar with this round.. How much off is it for a 223?
The scope may see some use on my FAL as well.

Any pros/cons with these two brands or models?

TIA

I don't have any experience with Nikon but i do with Vortex.  They make top grade products they stand behind, i have a Viper 6.5-20 x 50 on my .308 bolt gun and it is fantastic.  In addition they have a you break it we replace or fix it no questions asked warantee.  I highly suggest vortex

Either get the Nikon P223 version or the next step up in vortex optics. The crossfire doesn't have the nicest glass for the price you pay

I have heard great things about the Crossfire II, but may I suggest you check out the Burris Fullfield II 2-7 BDC. Its a great scope under $200 and does well in low light imo.

ETA: Burris has BDC info for multiple calibers including .308
