Nephew bought a new 7mm magnum for hunting season, with an included scope.  He switched it for a Leopold, which is sliding in the mount under recoil.  I have the necessary torque wrench, but the torque value on the ring screws was not list in the papers he left with me.  I would appreciate any assistance.

What mount base and rings is it?  Is it 1" or 30mm?  Mfg and type, please.  Ring screws vary in size and torque.  Some halves are matched and have to be assembled in pairs and in the same direction.  Are hex screws or torx screws involved?

The mount came on the rifle.  It is aluminum with one hex screw on each side of the ring.  Not close to my tools to measure the diameter.  The scope is a Leopold 3X9.  I'm going to try to talk him into a better mount, but the will have to wait until the season is over.  Thanks for the reply.
