I just bought my first red dot site the Vortex Sparc II and the crisp red dot as advertised looks more like a cluster to me. That said i only looked through my house and have yet to use outside or shoot which will happen this weekend. Anyone else had this problem or should i be concerned i have eye problem? My sight has always been checked and been really good. Thanks in advance

Turn it down or you may have a astigmatism

We have astigmatism dude

Mine looks the exact same, so does my Aimpoint PRO. Try turning down the brightness.

I have 20/20 vision, but I feel your pain.

For me eotechs are a blur.

Sparcs and aimpoints are much clearer.

Astigmatism's suck.

Damn im really hoping thats NOT what it is lol I'm going go home and play with moving it around on rifle, make optometry appt and go gun store and look other sites....really like the red dot hopefully can figure something out. Think a magnifier would help or make worse?

There are a few things you can try:
1: Turn down the brightness.
2. Go outside and use it
3. Look at your target, not the dot.

I have the sparc 2 also and outside the red dot is perfect. Now inside where it's a bit darker, you need to turn the red dot down or it will look as you just said. Go outside and test it out. So far this little sparc 2 has handled me beating the rifle around in drills. Next micro I'll try will be primary arms on my AK.

Great news although i still dont know if i have astigmatism scope looks clear at 50 and 100 yrds. Clusters inside for me at close range but not like thats important anyhow. I put a 3x magnifier on it and got some sexy groupings, this guy happy

Look through the small rear sight hole while looking at the red dot.

If the cluster looks clear this way, you have an astigmatism. If the red dot is still clustered it's probably a defect.

Do other red dots look this way or is it just this one?
