question 1:  the aimpoint pro factory mount, how good is it ?  looks kinda bulky to me, and how well does it hold zero ?

question 2: zeroing my irons, which distance is the over all best option, I don't run irons at all only back up ( duh )  but not sure if 50yds is best or 25, which brings me to question two, my front sight seems wide  are their any thin sights or dot sights to have a reference point for aiming ?

the Aimpoint PRO factory mount is the same mount issued to the military with they're M68 CCO's (Aimpoint M4), so, id say its a pretty darn good mount.. I prefer a 50 Yard zero with 5.56/.223

I like a 7 yard zero, it is good up close and putting the target on top of the post will get me good hits well past 300 yards.

With my 75gr 223 ammo and a height over bore of 2.6", a 7y zero would be something like +2.6 feet high at 100y, +7 foot high at 300, +8 feet high at 450y, and back through zero at 800y or so.

The most knob is bulky but the design is very robust.

I think he meant 75 yard zero.
