So, I looked through a RDS and it is blurred, like a few dots put together and not lined up. Took a picture of RD and it is clear as day. Yes I have an astigmatism. Yes I wear glasses.
Live with it or is there something i can do? |

Yep, but for a lot of people it makes the dot nice and crisp. |

I have mild astigmatism. My glasses correct for this. Check with your eye doctor. A change in your RX may solve that.
Also, if it does not, a small amount of magnification often helps. If your optic has the capability, screw in a 2x magnifier in the back of the eyepiece and the dot will be completely round and sharp. Another option is to go with a true 1-4 or 1-6x scope. That also eliminates the problem. |

I was recommended by Vortex to photograph my red dot. I had the same issue as you.
If when you photograph the dot it is circular, then blurry when you look it at with your naked eye, then it's your eyes and you have astigmatism. As others have said, I went with a 1-4x since the reticle is etched into the glass and not projected like RDS, so it's much sharper. |
