I disagree.. buy an aimpoint, zero it, leave it on, put in safe.

have owned both...sold the Eotech 512, have 2 Aimpoint PROs now.  Liked the Eotech but prefer the Aimpoints.

OP, do you prefer 9mm or .45?

You have credit card, no?
A.) Find Eotech and Aimpoint you like, buy both from Amazon, return one.
B.) Learn some Google-fu and find one of the existing 27,540 (or so) threads on this subject. Then decide for yourself....
Eotech:
Highly Reliable

Larger window, but some people don't like the blocky hood.

Ring and dot reticle is faster for some.

Battery life is less than Aimpoint
Aimpoint:
Smaller sight window

Ridiculous battery life (years)

Even more reliable

Lighter than an Eotech
If you have any sort of astigmatism or require corrective glasses/contacts you should probably look through both before you buy one. The appearance of the reticles/dots become very subjective once you introduce eye problems, i.e. Guy 1 with an astigmatism prefers an eotech, but Guy 2 prefers the Aimpoints.  Also, it's been reported in threads here and elsewhere that the dots are a little better formed (dot is actually a defined red circle vs a point of light.) in the Comp and other large-format Aimpoints than in the Micros (T1/H1/R1).

I'm surprised this question has never been asked before.

Aimpoint if your feel you will be lazy since it have years of battery life, and Eotech If you don't feel lazy since it has shorter battery life.

Both work very well for thousands of people.

+1, and Amazon will give you a full refund for no reason at all.

I have EXPS3-0 and love it. I bore sighted it through the barrel at 25 yards, took it to the range with 25 yard/100yrd zero targets 2 clicks down and put three shots into a nickel size area.

I liked the idea of the Eotech reticle, but with a bad astigmatism all I saw was a big blur.  Aimpoints for me from now on.  TRY before you buy...!!
