If anyone hears of when t his new optic gets released, will you please let us know? I am hoping it is sometime real soon. I am itching to put an optic on my new colt. I really want to wait for gen 2. I am afraid I won't have the patience and break down and buy gen 1,(which BTW would save me $70 after buying the lower 1/3 cantilever as well)!

| This is what Jimmy over at Vortex told me when I asked, "I would think 4-6 more weeks on an ETA before we start seeing them but the actual time frame may vary and be a little sooner or a little later. Thanks again and please let us know if you have any further questions." |

Honestly I think you should take a look over at primary arms, their optics are very nice entry level quality and you can get one for about $70
Here is one of them: https://www.primaryarms.com/Primary-Arms-3MOA-CR2032-Red-Dot-GENII-p/pa30crgenii.htm Also for about the same price of the strike fire primary arms has a new optic that was just released friday thats supposedly one of the best red dots you can buy for under $200; so id check it out https://www.primaryarms.com/Primary-Arms-CR123A-Battery-Red-Dot-with-8-hr-auto-p/pacrs.htm |

the new improvements include: they integrated the power switch into the up arrow button for the dot density which is rear facing. so it will no longer get accidently bumped "on" when you lay your rifle down. the nv button is also integrated in the arrow buttons. there are now only the to arrow buttons. it still has a green dot option also integrated into the arrow buttons. the whole tube is about a half inch shorter. they are including a cantilever so that you can mount it on one rail with a magnifier and still keep your mbus. and I think they redid the lens caps. basically fixed all the things people had issues with on the gen 1.

| Be sure when ordering from these other sites exe. primaryarms or swfa, that they are offering the correct mount. vortex is including the cantilever mount that is lower 1/3 cowittness and also allows you to add a magnifier along with keep you rear BUS on the same rail. I looked on both sites and I'm not sure if that is what they are offering. |

Here's a short video of the Strikefire II. Biggest change is that they removed the power button everyone was complaining about.

I have one of the Gen1's on my MSAR STG. My biggest complaints were the buttons on the side and the shitty lens caps. Glad to see that they are fixing these problems. Otherwise, it's a great optic. Great quality, with a great warranty, at a great price point. I'd consider selling my Gen1 and picking up a Gen2, but I'm in the process of switching over to a Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24 on that rifle. |

What improvements have they made to the Gen 2 over Gen 1? For It's price range, I think it is great dot with the warranty it has. Improvements: Buttons, length, cantilever included, and battery life as above. The MOST IMPORTANT improvement, however, is that it is now PARALLEX FREE! Old version was only parallex free after 50 yards. |
| in previous releases, how have vortex done the unveiling? Is it a show, on their website or over the net? I jumped to the conclusion that swfc and primary arms had them listed on their sites. Not thinking that it was preordering. So I didn't confirm the purchase just yet. was just wondering if I need to pitch a tent and be the first person in line waiting at my nearest vortex distributer. J/K. the Indy 1500 is in a month and was wondering if it might be available there. |
| this optic should fit on your rifle if it is equipped with a upper receiver rail. and the lower 1/3 cowittness means that when you look through the site, your front site will be in the lower 1/3 of your sight picture. if you google the difference between lower 1/3 and absolute cowittness, it will show a picture and explain better. |
| so I saw some pics of the new sparc at shot show. Were they available for purchase, anyone know? I am going to the indy 1500 this coming weekend and am wondering if I will be able to purchase the gen 2 strikefire. weather is turning for the better and am planning on doing some major range time. would be nice to show case the new optic to some already jealous buddies. |
| So the Indy 1500 gun and knife show is this weekend. I contacted Jimmy at Vortex and he gave me the number to a vendor that will be selling the new Strikefire. He is going to hold one back for me. So I will have a new gen 2 mounted on my AR by Saturday. I'll try to get pictures posted. But I would like to give a huge shout out to the customer service at Vortex for the contact info. I would recommend Vortex to anyone. All my optics will be made from Vortex! |

its true. it is out. swfa riflescopes has it for $180. I will be ordering it. been waiting for this. thanks for the heads up. I don't trust SWFA's website, and I would advise you order from them with caution. They do not have "live inventory" on their site, i.e., there's nothing that says in stock/out of stock. Sometimes you'll order a product, thinking it's in stock, since there's nothing to state otherwise on their site, only wait months for it to be finally shipped out. If their site lists it, I'd call first to confirm they actually have them in stock. |
