I bought the rear and front sights for my flattop.  Went to the range and the rounds were hitting low.  Brought the target in to 25 yards and I'm hitting to the left about 3" and down about 8 to 10" from the center of the bullseye.  I raised the post on the front sight as high as the threads would allow, but I'm still hitting low.  Since cold weather will not allow me to go to the range, I set up a rest, took the upper off the receiver, took the bolt out and looked down the barrel to find a target about 75 to 100 yards away.  Then I looked through my iron sights.  At that distance I'm low about 2'.  I fixed the shooting to the left, but cannot get the front sight adjusted to overcome the 2 foot drop.  Is there a front sight that is higher than the one I have.  It measures 1 1/2".  I've sighted two scopes in and a red dot with no problems, but these iron sights have me almost at the point of pulling my hair out!

If you are shooting low, shouldn't you be lowering the front sight (make is shorter) to correct?

You're going backwards.  If you want to raise the point of impact you need to screw the front post in (i.e, make it shorter).
