I've been browsing threads and threads on this site and all seem to be in the 1-4,6x, aimpoint, eotech and acog...

Has anyone had any dealings with this optic? Just curious.

I am currently leaning heavily on an Aimpoint, but don't want to rule anything out.

The in crowd thing to say is just get an ACOG, but the reviews I've seen on them were pretty favorable. It seems lack of a strong RTZ QD mount is the biggest downfall.

I don't remember the details, but there is a US MIL unit outfitted with them.

I played with one. They appear to be well made, but are bulky and heavy. They were also in excess of $1600.00 without the red dot. At least when I looked at them.

They have a couple advantages and disadvantages when compared to an ACOG. I think the main one that most people like is that the HAMR has a munch better eye relief (2.8in) when you compare it to the TA31 (1.5in). That being said, most people that I know, including myself, who want better eye relief out of a trijicon just end up getting either a TA33 or a TA11. Aside from the HAMR being battery powered, the only thing that I noticed the last time we had a couple in the shop was that when the illumination was turned all the way up, you could see a varying amount of dust particles on the internal lense. Some of them were light, just a couple specs here and there, but others were like a blizzard. Unit cost between a TA31,TA11 and HAMR (no delta point) is about the same, so there isn't really a difference there. In all, I would still go ACOG or Aimpoint (as you mentioned)

I had a CQT when they first came out and have handled a Hammer....I like the CQT for the 1X and the single circle dot reticle.

Given the same footprint and weight  imo the CQT is the way to go between the two...at least for me if I had the choose between the two.

With the advent of many good 1-4 illuminated reticles out there these days and the Browe and ACOG LED there are other good choices
to look at and for less money.

CQ/T 17.5 Oz
Hammer 14.6 Oz +.6 Oz for the Delta Pt
Browe 17 Oz
ACOG LED 18.1
