Who makes the lowest scope mount. Cantilever style and possibly the standard. I'm mounting a 1-4x sight. And want to keep it as low to the receiver as possible

I run Nightforce LW low with a 2.5-10

The nightforce 1.125" is the lowest 30mm mount that I know of. They are expensive but it was worth it to get my check weld where it needs to be.

Agreed! They made a huge improvement on the MWS when running the SOPMOD stock... You are limited by the scope used on gas guns, but if the glass allows for it's an excellent setup.

How do you guys get a decent cheek weld on standard height stocks with a mount lower than 1.5 inches from scope center line to the top of the rail?  Most cantilever mounts are made for 1.5" height because of AR stock design.

I try to run the lowest height rings that will clear the scope objective on my bolt guns, but their stocks are designed to work with very low open sights.  1.5" AR mounts are as low as I can use and get good cheek weld on my Magpul ACS stock, and it is more forgiving in the department than most.  Is the SOPMOD stock lower than that? It seems to be identical in configuration to the ACS, but without the extra storage compartment.

I can't aswer your question about the SOPMOD, but for what it's worth I have an Armalite one piece scope mount with a 1.25" centerline height and it's just too low for my tastes - I had to really scrunch my face down into the stock to make it line up. I much prefer 1.4" to 1.5".

Uhh, it's more like the other way around ... how are people getting a decent weld with all these 1.47" high mounts?  I wish more manufacturers would make mounts in the 1.25" range, to me that just feels MUCH better.  I get an actual cheek weld that way, not a jaw weld.

This site is a bit outdated, but still has great info

Just different facial structures I guess. All of my buddies hate shooting my guns because they can't get low enough to get a full FOV through the scope. I could actually go even a tad bit lower but I can't find a lower mount. I would probably also run into problems mounting certain scopes if they were any lower. For 1" scope tubes I use a Badger riser (.430") and Seekins low (.76") and it gets me close to the NF centerline.

The downside to mounting them this low is you can't use a BUIS under the rear if that matters to you.

That depends, for a NTCH shooter and a typical (these days) 4" eye relief, you can get the scope farther forward than the entire rear iron so they don't interfere with each other at all.  And with a 1x low end scope, you can flip up both front and rear and see just enough of the front iron (through the scope at 1x) to make decent precision shots.  I have a couple setup this way and like it, using the KAC 200-600 rear iron, Primary Arms 1-6, and rings putting the scope at 1.25" height.  For me, great setup.

But like you said, different facial structure I guess.  That, and some people just don't like getting tight into the gun.
