I use the large at 50 yards. It may be easier for someone thats not very comfortable with iron to use the smaller though.

I zero at 50, gives me a relative zero out to 300 yards. Small aperture is for day, large is for night (as if you can see them anyway at night).

Both apertures will give the same result. Though you may find it easier to be more precise with the smaller one.

The 50/200 yard zero seems to be the most popular one around here. But the military 25/300 yard zero is also common.

You should use the small aperture to zero and for most of your iron sight shooting. The 50 yard / 200 meter zero is popular and works, others like the 25m/300m and then there is the 36/300.
