I'm looking to build a basic budget rifle (.223/5.56) and I was trying to decide on sights/scopes. I have red dots on all my target pistols and love them, but I'm not sure how they'll work out on a 100 yard plus rifle. I'm going for a flat top upper and losing the standard front sight in the process, so it will need some kind of sights. It's strictly going to be a target gun (range access is only 100 yards right now), but I would like the option of using the scope and iron sights for practice purposes.
I saw this scope http://www.cdnninvestments.com/ar6xra2rebdc.html . I like the quick detach option and the price is in my ball park for a starter option. Has anyone had any experience with this brand? I'm not looking for atom splitting accuracy at my price range. I'm trying to keep to under $100. Any other suggestions ofr a detachable scope/red dot? |

My vote is simply use irons until you can save for something like an aimpoint pro. Its honestly not that much more $, and its a great product. The last thing id want on my weapon is an optic that would/could fail. He's looking for a magnified optic. Not another red dot |
