so i txt and talk to a buddy at vortex and he is trying to get me to buy a viper pst 6-24 or the razor hd 5-20 something, i have also been eyeing up the new ior valdada scopes, mainly the ior 3-18x42 ffp with extream ret.  one thing i definitly want from the scope is something like a horus ret, where their are lines along the middle bottom of the ret like whats on the razor hd and the ior extream ret.

my one buddy had a nightforce on his barret and it was nice i wouldnt mind them i just dont see a retical that i like. my absolute most i can afford is 2k i really cannot go over that and would like to stick around 1500 but again at most 2k.

so any one have any ideas besides save up another 1.5k and get a hensoldt ?

The Razor 5-20 MRAD is probably your best bet if you want a xmas tree type reticle. They really are a very good scope.

Another great option is the Leupold Mk6 3-18x44 with a Horus.

The IOR scopes don't do much for me.

ETA: Here is my MK6 review.

Oops sorry I forgot you had a cap on what you wanted to spend.

ETA: Another option is the Bushnell Elite Tac series. They have a 3-12x44, 6-24x50, and a 3.5-21x50 all under $2k.

Bushnell ERS 3.5-21x 50mm, G2 reticle, matches all your stated criteria. Don't let the pre conceived notion about Bushnell sway your view, these optics are rock solid is quality and performance.

FYI, there is a vendor that has the MK6 optic well under the price you have stated, do not go off of Leupold MSRP, those are not street prices.

Glass is a tough thing to quantify, I replaced a very high dollar optic on my 308 with a Bushnell ERS and can still see everything I need to.
