Can you use a scope on an ar15 with a standard fsb on the barrel? I did not know if the fsb would interfere with the sight picture.

Thanks

The optic will work just fine.
Just train the brain to ignore it on lower power.

Truth.  I've got a 1.25 to 4x on a flattop with a standard front sight.  At the lowest magnification,  there's a grey ghost at the bottom of the scope picture.  Above 2x it disappears.

Think about this.  If you put your plain ol' Mark One Eyeball up close to a screen door and look out,  you don't even see the screen at all.  Depth of field and focal length.  A scope is typically not even in focus til  the target is a good distance out anyway.  The Bushnell 854144MD says their Minimum Focus Distance: 10 yards.  And that's a scope with a variable side focus.     Weaver 800352, Super Slam Scope, 4-20x50mm, Matte FInish, Side Focus,  says their minimum focus is 40 yards

But no,  not a problem if the scope is mounted at the height the crosshairs would be looking out at the top of the front post, or maybe a tad higher.  For proper cheek weld, the center of the scope should be about the same height as the plain old peep sight on the removable carry handle.   The front post will be all but invisible.

So,  Please.....  do not get out the dremel tool or the hacksaw and chop off the front sight!!!!     You'll thank me, you'll bless me.  No need to disfigure your rifle.
