I acquired this scope through a trade for a couple of MRE's back in the mid-80s from a local soldier. I can't remember for sure, but it was either in Honduras or Panama.
I had forgotten that I had it until a couple of days ago while I was going through some boxes of stuff that I hadn't opened since I retired from the army some time ago. It's in perfect working condition. I did many deployments and training events with it during the course of my career and it shows. Still, I'm thinking I'm going to use it on my current project. It would be nice to know a little more about it though. The reticle picture is the best I could do with my cell phone camera. It's actually perfectly sharp, bright, clear and does not fog. The stuff in the top right quadrant is just a reflection from behind me. It is range adjustable. There is an allen screw on the knurled portion of the elevation tower that when loosened, allows you to zero for elevation. Once it's tightened, it can be rotated from 1 to 8, with clicks every 50 meters for dialing in range adjustments. Not only do I think I am pretty close to finding out exactly what it is, my hearts pumping because they appear to be worth a LOT more than two MRE's!! Maybe even worth more than the carbine I'm thinking about putting it on! |
