After months of waiting to get an MD06, I finally got one as a birthday gift from my son. Now I understand that this is not an Aimpoint, but should I expect to see as much going on as I see in mine?
If I get close up on the sight, there is a large area of soft, translucent red, almost like a half-moon filter, in the upper left hand corner. If I back off, that kind of disappears, but then I see a thin, bright red arc of light (halo?) in the upper right side that covers about 3/4's around the edge of the sight picture, with the dot in the middle. Needless to say it's pretty distracting. It happens indoors and outdoors at various brightness settings.

I wanted to find out if it's just a characteristic of a low-cost sight that I'll have to live with, or if I'll need to contact PA. I have an old UltraDot that doesn't do this, so I don't think it's right.

I've heard such good things about the sight, and waited so long, so I'm a little bummed.

This is NOT a PA bash, just looking for input before I contact PA.

Thanks.

Ive seen this before. its a reflection... with eye close to sight as in firing position, cup your hand over eyepiece and forehead, it should go away. this happens with most economy reddots. Just bought a Aimpoint Pro, i'll check to see if it has it.  Outside should be better, i dont recall noticing it while in action.

Sounds normal. It has nothing to do with the cost of it. Any red dot that is capable of a very bright dot will have reflections if you turn it up higher than needed for the lighting conditions.

That said Micros do tend to show more becasue of the close distance between the LED and reflective front glass.

I am confident you will be satisfied in use. Mount it up and go shooting. Turn it up as bright as needed for the lighting conditions not all the way. Look through the optic not into it.

If you are not happy I will pay return shipping and issue a full refund.
