I have a TA-31F w/ the kill flash and LaRue mount.  The only reason I have the kill flash on there is so I have something to install the scope cap on.  I don't really care for the setup as it is now.  I am trying to design something that will allow me to use a scope cap on the forward lens and not have the kill flash attached.  I know GG&G makes a mount that incorporates the cap on the front but I like my LaRue mount and don't want to switch.  I have the ability to create something (as in tooling and skills) but I'm not really sure how I want to go about doing it.  So instead of re-inventing the wheel I thought I would ask and see what others have done to over come this problem.  If you have seen or made your own way to put a flip up scope cap on an ACOG please post a description and/or picture.  Or if you have any ideas share those as well.  TIA.

I believe it is no longer made, but Progressive Machine made an aluminum flip-down cap for TA31s.  I have one on my TA31F and like it a lot.  It allows you to use any mount you want (ADM in my case).   Very well made and works great.  Pic:

I have read of people using a BC lens cap, whichever size fits inside the end of the unit, with the hinge being on the bottom. No idea how they attach them, though. Can't imagine it'd be too durable.

I had the same idea, but it would require an RCO ARD, as the honey comb part can be unscrewed

We might make it still...
