I'm wondering if any of ya'll have the MagPul PTS BUIS on their AR?
As I understand it, they are designed for airsoft use, but I'm curious if folks use them on their AR's also? |
| I have an older Gen 1 PTS pair of MBUS sights...terrible. All allen keys are different sizes, some odd sizes that I can't even find...so the PTS front sits at the bottom of the drawer. The PTS rear has been fine on my 22. Not sure if they have Gen 2 PTS sights or if they are copies of the Magpul made Gen 2 MBUS sights. For the price you can get real MBUS sights...I don't see the point in not just getting the real ones. |

If you are seriously considering PTS vs non-PTS and your decision-making has anything to do with cost, you picked the wrong hobby. |

Why would anyone infer that I "have picked the wrong hobby" or that I'm a "cheap ass"? The question has nothing to do with cost. If it did, I would have included that in the post. Why did you ask then? If PTS were "good enough" don't you think everyone and their mother would be running them? Let' see...You know that they are designed for Airsoft use but yet you wonder if people are using them on real rifles? Wouldn't it be kind of an unsound business decision if Magpul was making PTS sights that were on par (or comparable) to their own more expensive offerings? All it would take is a few credible reviews attesting to the PTS's strengths and Magpul would lose it's standard MBUS market share to their own less costly product. |

Simple. I asked because I was wondering if anyone was running the PTS sights on their AR's. Why? Seriously, why do you care if others are running PTS? They look just like the real thing, if they were built well then the only tangible difference between them and the "made-for-guns" version would be the price. Therefore, you want to hear about other people running them so that you also can run them and enjoy the only perceived tangible difference...a lower price. |
| PTS is made for airsoft. You know this already but think about it- air soft. They are known for very poor plastics and reliability. From a back up sights stand point, I would feel more comfortable with no sights than pts toys. Best case scenario, you save a little bit of money for something that works okay. Spend the extra and get real magpul |
