[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Aimpoint double dot malfunction

ML3 red dot I got from LaRue in late 2008 worked flawlessly til this month, now I have 2 visible dots, one fainter that the other, closely spaced but annoying as hell. No rough handling, fired a few times a month, battery is fine.

Any easy fix? Contact LaRue?

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would contact Aimpoint. I hear they have pretty good CS.

How long ago was the last time you looked through your aipoint before the double dot showed up?

Might not be the aimpoint, it might be your eyes. Then agian, it might be the aimpoint.

The only way to be sure it is not your eyes is to take a photo. If you really have a double dot, it will show up in the photo, if no double dot in photo, it is all in your eyes.

Try rotating the sight while you're looking through it. If the image of the double dot doesn't rotate, it looks like the problem is in your eye.
