Looking to potentially buy my first ACOG.

Specifically a ta31.

My question is simple.

Is the chevron laser etched like the ta01? What i mean by this is that when the tritium runs out the chevron will still be there, just black, instead of red/green.

Do i have this correct?

I know they are rated for a long time but I just wanted to check and see if the laser is etched under.

Yes.  Even if there is no tritium, it will still be visible, and illuminated by the fiber optic during daylight.

You probably already realize this but there are several reticles and a few different 5.56 drop compensation patterns in the TA31 as well as a TA31 calibrated for 6.8SPC.  All of your RCO models will either be for a 20" bbl (RCO-A4) or 14.5" bbl (RCO-M4 and RCO-M150).  The rest are calibrated to Trijicon's average of common barrel lengths 14.5-20".  ACOGs are my favorite general purpose optics and are well worth the price.  I was supposed to receive a TA31CH-RMR today from FEDEX but wasn't home so I have to wait until tomorrow unfortunately.

Acogs,

Yes!

They are GREAT!

I personally run the TA31F-RMR on several weapons.

And non RMR on medium to longer range weapons.

I keep the chevron in everyone...I'm used to it...

But they are all great optics...

Once you get used to the BAC you'll probably not go with any other optic...Or at least not really want to.

I just yesterday ordered a scope...First scope on an AR and it took quite a bit to get me to pull off an acog and place on a scope...

My 2 cents
