Big question is this,
the TA31RCO-M150CP Army version, is listed as having external adjustments specifically, under the caps, tooless and stil waterproof to 11m etc, meaning its not like the standard ACOG adjustments.... While the Marine version, either A4 or M4, does not specifically state whether or not the adjustments are the same as the Army version or if they are like the standard ACOG adjustments under the cap.  I have messed with the Army one briefly, but never the Marine one, ad that one is the one that will most likely fit the needs, but it must be adjusted toolessly and externally.

All the other differences are minor, and easily researched. I do like the Marine version is 1/3 min clicks. ( about a .1 mil, nice..) opposed to the Army 1/2 Min clicks. I am looking to get one for a very specific purpose for some very specific "proofing" and need to know before I drop the cash on the Marine version. I am only interested in the ACTUAL Military versions. The final proofed model would have to be readily issued through normal supply channels..

Does anyone have a picture or first hand experience with BOTH to show the differences if any?

I do appreciate it.

Are you military?

If you are, chances are you have used, or at least seen the Marine Corps version before you saw the M150.

Originally the TA31F was issued through RFI until about 2007/8-ish.  Once the Marine Corps adopted the RCO and type classfied it as the AN/PVQ-31A (M16A4) and AN/PVQ-31B (M4 Carbine), the RFI program shifted to the RCO models.  Only around the 2010-ish timeframe did the M150 RCO begin replacing the AN/PVQ-31B.

Besides the adjustments, the  PVQ-31s, as I mentioned, had an Alpha and Bravo version calibrated for M855 from a 20" and 14.5" barrel respectively.  The AN/PVQ-31 series uses the "traditional" ACOG adjustments rather than the adjustment knobs of the M150, but are still very easy to adjust - all you need is the rim of a 5.56MM cartridge, and you have an instant adjustment tool.

The Army M150 version uses a "hybrid" BDC designed to split the difference between 20" and 14.5" barrels, and be useable for both.  It is also issued with flip up lens caps that the AN/PVQ-31 series lacks, though they can be retrofitted.

Hope this is the information you need.

"The AN/PVQ-31 series uses the "traditional" ACOG adjustments rather than the adjustment knobs of the M150"

That is exactly what I needed to know. Thank you.

I am Military, but as Aircrew I get a M9, a M240H and recently an M4 that Technically belongs to the aircraft, but no optics as the Pilots M4's got the CCO, no ACOGS.

For what this will be used for, the Knobs are a must as opposed to usin a cartridge rim or anyother device other than fingers to make the adjustments.

Any idea what the M150 spaces out in inches for the different range marks?

Not sure about the exact BDC offsets, unfortunately.

The Marines type classified the RCOs in 2004, they started showing up at units in 05

The M150 major difference other than the blended reticle is instead of 1/3 MOA knobs the M150 uses 1/2 MOA knobs

Sorry - should have clarified that my RFI dates were for the Army, and approximate.
