So guys, went to zero my new rifle yesterday and had something arise that I've never dealt with before.  In order to get on paper, the post of my A2 front sight had to be adjusted so high that the base is a good 3/8 of an inch out of the recess, and when viewed directly from the side the top of the post is higher than the shields on each side.  It's not causing any problems other than looking kinda odd, I was just curious whether this was normal (since it's in the range of adjustment) or I should look into a taller front sight post.  I've had to make some extreme adjustments from the factory, but never had to have one come up that high.  Also wondering if MBUS2 rear sight could be to blame, I've got a Troy on the way but just wanted to get it shooting straight until it arrives...never know what could happen between now and then  Thanks for the help ya'll!

Is that something I should prioritize or will this hold zero until I can just add it on to another order anyway?  I hate to pay shipping rates on such a tiny part.

Try just calling them and telling them the sight is not adjusting enough and it looks like the front sight is too short.  Some people have gotten the taller front sight post for free from Bushmaster.

Does your front sight wobble? Do not buy the taller front sight direct from Shrub. Look at the Industry Section and buy from someone like PK, ADCO, et al.

The taller front sight is 0.040" taller. If your front sight post is really 3/8" too high, there is a problem that will not be fixed with the taller sight post.

I've had to use the taller Bushy front sight on some ARs before, and they did not stick up above the protective "ears" of the forged front sight base.

Yes, now that you mention it, it sure does.  I don't plan on buying from Bushmaster, but I'm sure gonna call and see if they'll send me one since it's a factory defect.  If someone answers the phone that is...I emailed them regarding activation of my warranty weeks ago and have gotten no reply.
