Cool. Care to give us a review of what you see so far? Is it a wider fov etc.?

First Impressions:  Well, being 1/2" shorter is very nice and that 1/2" makes a big difference.   The Eye relief is improved, a bit more would be nice but it's an obvious improvement from the g23 and really think people are going to love the large EyePiece Lens / smaller Optical Lens.  The Slap to side mount is great, still trying to figure which way I want the Optic to fall ( I see benefits to both ) but transitioning from CQB to Medium range is a breeze.  Over all I'm impressed and can't wait to get it on the Range.  Let me know of any specific questions anyone has...

Where did you buy it from? Most places are still showing several weeks before estimated ship date.

I'm almost ashamed to admitt it but I got it from CABELAS in KC.  I had a $75 in gift cards so I figured what the hell, $522.82 out the door.  But regardless of getting the "best deal" (which you won't find on a brand new item like this) I'm happy to have it FINALLY!  I assume it was just shipped from Eotech around 8/28/12.  Better pictures to Follow (originals were from my iPhone)

I have the same set up with the EXPS and the G23.  I've been thinking of upgrading.  What is the magnification on the G33?  Is there an option for higher than 3x?

The G33 is stiil using a true magnification of 3.25x, like the G23.  Eotech doesn't offer a magnifier over 3.25x.   The difference beteween the two will be in the FOV (Improved), Eye Relief (great), easy adjust Wind/Elevation, and a Larger Eye Piece than the G23.

Thanks for posting the pics.  I've been trying to determine if I'll be able to fit an EXPS3 + G33 + Magpul rear mbus on a standard flattop.

From the looks of your setup it seems like I should be good to go.  I assume no issues with having the magnifier right up close to the EXPS like that?

You should be good to go with your set up.  There is no issue at all with the Eotech snug up to the magnifier like the picture shows and as you can see I have my TROY BUIS that managed to fit in there.

Looks great. I had a cheap Mako a while back to try out the concept before spending big bucks. I was more comfortable flipping to the right, but I think that if I go back to the magnifier I may go left next time. Two advantages, You can flip it back and forth with the support hand while maintaning the firing grip, and actually probably get good enough to engage targets at the same time. Rither way it's quicker and you can maintain sight picure. Secondly, there is no chance of interference with objects as there might be on the outside.

The drawback as I see it, is that I veiw the field with both eyes open, and my face on the lefthand side, so there is a possiblility of an obstruction of the view.

One other possible advantage to left side flipping, is you may be able to scan the area in view using the magnifier without needing to put it in front of the optic, and then engage the targets with optic only.

I just came on to alert people I receive a email from Eotech that they started shipping G33's out, they said first they would have to fill there military contract before any were released to the public... So I was surprised to see you with one... I am willing to bet you are only 1 of a handful whom have them right now... When did you order yours if you don't mind ?

And congrats BTW

I cannot, for the life of me, find a G33 ANYWHERE online.

Yea, I was just as shocked to get one as well.  I made the Purchase on 9/6 and recieved it 9/11.   Box had an Inspection Date of 8/27/12.  This thing is Bad Ass.  Glass is clear and its so compact!

I picked one up here in EE back in June...this fellow had some connections & knew the right people...great price as well!!!

The glass is very clear and the FOV is noticeably greater than the g23. The best way I can explain it is...it's equivalent to looking through a Trijicon TR24, just with less eye relief...but still very good. I love this thing.

Will it be possible to have a NTCH cheek weld with the EXPS only on the upper (not bridging between the upper and rail? From the dimensions it seems like it would be awfully close.
Thanks,
Dustin
