Need a scope for my new RRA 20" predator pursuit upper. Paper punching 100-200 yards with 600/1000 yard range available for fun occasionally.
Was thinking Nikon (I have 3 and like 'em) coyote 4.5x14x40....... |

Millett has their 4-16 which would work from 100-1000 yards when need be. Keeping it dialed down low would be good for 100-200 yards. Decent optics for the price: http://www.opticsplanet.com/millet-tactical-riflescope.html The Buckmasters 4-14x40 with the side focus would also be another great choice. BDC, NikoPlex, and mil Dot reticles on that model. http://www.opticsplanet.com/nikon-riflescope-buckmasters-4-14x40.html Trevor B. |
| I liked that video review shown on that MidwayUSA link for the Weaver Grand Slam. |

very good glass for the price but the nitrex line will get you more, same quality, less price imho and they are weaver Same glass yes. The problem is there are no mil based reticles available and the adjustments don't match the reticle like the weaver. This sucks balls. Ever try to shoot in the wind with a duplex reticle? It doesn't work so well. |

| I 2nd the SWFA SS scopes. I have a 16x on my .308 that I paid $299 for. I've also tried Sightmark and NC Star. At first I thought I had a problem with the Sightmark holding zero, but I think it had something to do with the rings and not necessarily the scope. I had it mounted on an AR-10 .308. I returned it anyway. The online retailer I purchased it from said it is the better of the cheap scopes. The NC Star Shooter II series is mounted on my .223. I've only taken it to the range once, but I was shooting nice groups at 200 yards. It's the 10 - 40 x 50, so it looks ridiculously big. I got it for $99 from cheaperthandirt. I don't know how long it'll last given the price, but I did see plenty of positive reviews. |

| I have a weaver 3x10x40 tactical and it is a damn good optic for the money . If you feel you need more magnification midway also has a nikon 6x18 x 40 side focus mil-dot scope for around the same price I also have one of those on a howa varmint supreme and it is a very nice optic . the only draw back is the clicks are in 1/8th inch increments. |

Add me to the list, too.

What about this: http://www.nikonhunting.com/products/riflescopes/m-223/4-16x42_BDC_600/8493 Optically that scope is good but thats about it. The reticle and adjustments are mismatched and are only good for one load at one atmospheric condition. That's the problem with BDCs. There are also no wind holds on the reticle. If you truly want a LR scope, this is not it. |

For a budget mount you could use a Primary Arms mount or the Primary Arms Deluxe mount shown on this page.
The Vortex Optics Cantilever mount (NOT QD) looks real nice! Probably worth the few extra bucks. |

What about a mount or rings? Don't need quick release. Weaver might be the winner. On sale for $299 If you are keeping it lower cost and want a qd, go pepr. Burris PEPR is solid and seems to be the most reasonably priced among rings of that quality. I have two of them |
