Looks like a model they sold for hunting pistols / revolvers.  Mount looks too low for use on an AR.

ETA:  they're here in NOVA, give 'em a call on Monday or shoot them an email http://www.aimpoint.com/support/contact/

ETA2:  Discontinued Products:  Aimpoint CompC SM

Aimpoint® CompC SM
Mounted with the supplied special wide 30 mm ring that fits all Weaver bases. This sight is ideal when a short mounting base is required as the total length of the sight is only 4 ¾”. This makes the CompC particularly desirable whenever a lightweight, compact sight is required, such as for use on a “scout” rifle, carbine, or competition pistol.

True, I'm all about the Krylon... but the link above lists it as 7 MOA... I'd skip it if that's the case.

Saw this too but its being sold as 4 MOA. 7 MOA would suck. Guess I could get the SN and have Aimpoint tell me all about it.

Get a PRO and be done with it.

I've seen em as cheap as $375.  I think PSA has 'em on sale now.

So I called Aimpoint and they cant give out SN info but transfered me to someone who has been with the company for a long time (sounds like he repairs them). He has never seen or heard of a silver Aimpoint being copied and they did make 4MOA CompC-sm but they're rare.

The only thing that has me questioning if its legit of not is those cheap scope covers. Nearly all chinese optics come with them.
