Instructions say secure with Loctite.  That seems pretty permanent.  Do all back-up sights require Loctite to hold them in place?  Are they being cautious with this recommendation or is everyone doing this?  My Eotech doesn't use Loctite.

Yes, use the (blue) Loctite.  People have lost them.   The product is solid, but its just a threaded screw to hold them on and rifles are subject to a lot of abuse.

Blue loctite is non-permanent and is your friend, and you won't need more than a spare penny or dime to install/uninstall.   Red loctite is the super aggressive stuff which requires heat to release it.

Another option is purple 222.  It light strength and commonly used for set screws or fine threads.
