[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Question about Eotech mounting

Eotech web says "Raised 7mm base with knurled cross bolt" for certain models but not others. Is this a specific difference in height that has sighting impact?
Say between the 512 and the 556 model...

Had an aimpoint for years and trying something "new"
